As many of you know, WSRR Radio was started off the back of The Rebel Podcast, initially as StylesRebelRadio.com, simply as a home page for show information and news updates. Over 5 years later, WSRR has become your home for local and independent music across the nation. From college radio to podcasting to other stations, to starting our own, you’ve watched The Rebel Radio Show grow and evolve over 283 live shows. We cannot begin to thank you enough for the immense support you have shown and the trust in us you had to create something so much larger than just one weekly show. Thank you to the countless guests we’ve had on for joining us for two hours at a time for pure nonsense, and our incredible sponsors who all work tirelessly to support local music and business. They have and continue to keep WSRR and local music on your radios! We want to send a special thank you to WSRR artists Year of October, who had previously provided us with the use of Watselands Pt. 2 to use for our conspiracy series, and of course, The Daze for allowing us to use their songs Trash and Falling for Nothing as our intro and outro, respectively, for the past few years. While this is bittersweet, it is far from the end. The finale of The Rebel Radio Show symbolizes the start of an exciting new era in WSRR programming! The finale will be released as a special two-part podcast in the following weeks to give anyone who missed it live a chance to hear the full send off. Additionally, The Rebel Radio Show replays will continue to run at 5pm Eastern as part of your weekday afternoon drive block. “Rock The Valley” is a two-day showcase of rock and metal in New Martinsville, WV. The event, which is set to take place October 4th and 5th 2025, is being held by Charles Morgan Entertainment LLC and is set to feature a collection of artists with a heavy influence of local and independent artists from surrounding areas. WSRR Radio first learned of this event in late 2024 on Facebook, where it has been heavily promoted. In a post looking for local artists who would like to join the two-day lineup, the official WSRR account commented, offering to put the organizers in touch with any local or independent artists we play, as our station covers much of the surrounding area and has worked with many talented artists.
While the initial reaction to this event was overwhelmingly positive, both by up-and-coming artists and residents of the WV area, things slowly began to snowball into a confusing web of unanswered questions. Many comments under the official event page began to shift from support and optimism about the success of the show to questions about full lineups not being announced prior to tickets going on sale, ticket pricing, and missing information about previously advertised bands. While initially advertised and promoted both via Facebook “Artists Announcements” and on official promotional images for the event, it would appear several independent artists are now being left off the bill without compensation, a reason, or even a response as to why they have been removed. In fact, as of the time of writing this article (June 8th, 2025), the headliner for the Sunday night show has yet to be announced despite tickets being sold and the official “Rock The Valley” website stating”Headliner coming on May 31st”. Notable bands that have been previously advertised but are no longer involved in this event include: The Daze, BADE, Black Hole Zion, and Appalachian Hustle.
WSRR Radio has reached out to several of the bands who have been unceremoniously removed from the bill either abruptly or without explanation. The identities of these individuals have been kept anonymous to protect their respective bands’ privacy.
*It should be noted that Wesley Morgan is listed as the “Founder” of Rock The Valley despite it being presented under the Charles Morgan Entertainment LLC*
“We have not gotten paid and we were recently removed from the lineup. No response to my emails or DM’s from the festival but I have not caused them any trouble to even warrant this kind of behavior.” … “Also, I will say that I gave him a range of what we had gotten paid for other events. Some were really well paid for us. Then I followed up with “Personally, we would rather help you make this a success and have you ask us back on a regular basis”. I gave him a range of numbers that I thought were fair for a new fest and a band at our level. He followed up with a higher number than what I asked for in the contract. We signed our contract on 12/1 and got communication until 12/23/24. We did not do or say anything negative to or about this guy and the fest. We also did not ask for anything additional.”
“I’ve been watching it like a hawk, they’ve been deleting comments on their Facebook page about the lineup and anything that’s remotely negative about it, I commented genuinely about ten times…and they deleted all of those comments” … “They won’t respond to alot of bands right now, it’s really fucked up what they are doing. If they’re going to kick us off the fuckin’ bill, they could at least tell us”.
Along with these quotes from some of those involved, others have reported not getting paid, contracts being ignored, and having comments removed.
WSRR Radio has also reached out to Charles Morgan Entertainment LLC via the official Rock The Valley Website about the removal of these bands, but as of this article, have received no response.
The purpose of this release is simply to share the accounts and experiences of the talented artists who have been removed from the Rock The Valley Event, had their contracts ignored, or have been unable to contact those in charge to gain clarification. WSRR Radio would also like to extend the offer to ANY artist who was removed from this event without explanation to have their music played on WSRR Radio. We hope this commentary has shed some light and understanding on the events surrounding Rock The Valley and will give the artists involved a louder voice to the injustice they have faced.

The Daze released their latest EP, Skies, on May 25th, 2025 on all major streaming services, and it immediately gained traction on social media stories across all of Ohio, showcasing the hard rock, rhythm-inspired grunge sound listeners have come to know and love from The Daze!
The Skies EP kicks off with the previously released single Time As It Stands, complete with a melodic intro that turns into a firm kick in the ass, The guitar/bass duo of Eddie Grier and Basil Johnsn are at it again with the absolute epitimy of an “Opening Track” that gets you amped up for the rest of the EP. Seriously, try not to bang your head while this is playing because, scientifically speaking It cannot be done! While this tune shows off the immense instrumental prowess of The Daze, it’s the subtle backing vocal overlay of me that steals the show and adds more depth to Time As It Stands than your average rock track. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself driving around subconsciously singing the chorus on loop for days after listening to this one!
Start Again highlights front man Eddie Grier’s vocal strengths, both in timing and versatility. Accompanied by backing vocals and harmonies, Start Again keeps listeners engaged and along for the ride with vocals that are anyhing but mundane! This track also showcases a strong presence on the drums that you can’t help but stomp your feet along to! The pièce de résistance, however, is the expertly timed guitar breakdowns that wrap themselves around the lead vocals so uniquely incredible!
The title track to the EP, Skies, showcases what I personally always look forward to on a Daze release, and that is the rhythmic ballad. It’s no secret the band loves to experiment with long melodic instrumentals, sounds, ambiance, and extended solos, and this track has it all. Perfect for a long drive, a rainy night, or just kicking back to relax, the melodic guitar and bass will catch you swaying in place before you’re swept away with an impeccable guitar solo. Skies showcases the versatility and creativity we have come to know The Daze for, and it’s no question why this is the title track to the EP!
Rounding out the Skies EP is Another Way. With a sound I can only verbalize as All American Rejects meets Bon Jovi, on a Soundgarden track, this is a track for multiple generations of rock fans to enjoy. With a steady train-like beat that will get you amped up in the gym or the windows down in your Trans AM, Another Way is a classic pump-up song. Akin to Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song or Motley Crue’s Kickstart My Heart, you’ll be reaching for the volume within seconds of this absolute banger.
The Daze have done it again, providing a collection of tracks that show the music scene is alive and well. When it comes to creativity and individuality in music, The Daze boys are second to none and show it time and time again! The Daze are an up-and-coming local band from the outskirts of Cleveland who made their radio debut Friday, November 11th, 2022, during Style’s Rock Revival show. The boys were featured in the Independent Spotlight showcasing their single Red Mark. Style got in touch with Eddie and RJ of The Daze to give a little more insight behind the band.
“The Daze was formed in mid-2020 during the pandemic by a group of high school friends.
The current lineup consists of Eddie Grier on Vocals and Guitar, RJ Beall on Guitar and
Bass, and Basil Johnson on drums.”
“Our sound is a mix of Alternative Rock, Garage Rock with hints of Indie and punk.”
“We are big fans of the grunge scene, bands like Alice In Chains and Nirvana, but also dig
the bands that expanded their sound in drop tuning like Helmet and Silverchair, and the
bands that added more catchy hooks like Oasis and The Vines.”
(Eddie) “Well, it’s the first song I ever wrote intended for a band to play. I was really into the
whole Garage Rock genre of the early 2000’s and tried to write something like The White Stripes or The Hives or The Vines. It’s a quick, catchy little tune that I thought would
be perfect to drop as a single.”
(RJ) “It means a lot, for sure. This is our first time being showcased on a station, and it
shows that our hard work is paying off not only in writing and recording but playing live and
spreading the word of The Daze.”
(Eddie) “We’ve had these songs (and a lot more) brewing for a while. So to see it released
for anyone to listen to is really cool. And to watch these songs being picked up and
shared really helps us keep pushing.”

While there aren’t a lot of albums I’m determined to get my hands on a physical copy of in 2024, Last year’s debut album from The Daze, Methomania, is one that has made a permanent home in my car’s CD Player. The Daze is a band of up-and-comers out of Jefferson Ohio who have quickly taken the independent music scene by storm. Methomania perfectly encapsulates the band’s alternative rock and grunge roots while showcasing their versatility both instrumentally and in vocal dexterity.
Methomania kicks off with “Falling for Nothing” which is hands down the perfect introduction to the rollercoaster ride of rock the next 40 minutes are about to entail. With a bassline equal parts simple and hypnotic, Falling for Nothing takes mere seconds to get you on the edge of your seat and waiting for the crescendo of Guitar and Drums to kick in. Common practice with album etiquette typically sees your into track be a familiar single, hard-hitting radio play heavy track or a fan favorite. Falling for Nothing, Previously released as a single, definitely ticks all those boxes. Not to mention, It can be heard at the end of every Rebel Radio Show, Live Mondays at 5pm on WSRR.
In an ambitious and bold move The title track, “Methomania”, follows with a jolt of hard rock, kickass grunge that’ll send you back to 1994 MTV complete with radio-esc distortion that ties it all together. Lead singer Eddie Grier does an impeccable job of maintaining cleverly crafted, audible vocals with vivid symbolism. According to the singer, Methomania (An ancient Greek/English word relating to alcohol dependence) details the generational trauma inflicted by a father who finds himself at the bottom of bottle after bottle being passed down to his son. The song is a self-relectant cry for help from the son in overcoming these demons, to not find themselves in the same situation and depths they witnessed their father succumb to.
“Pop-song for Heartbreak” is my personal sleeper pick off Methomania. In a showcase of versatility striking similar to Nirvana’s Spank Thru (Originally written in the style of a pseudo-pop song by Kurt Cobain prior to the formation of Nirvana), “Pop-Song for Heartbreak” is unapologetically upfront and literal. Equal parts real and catchy, this track fits a wide variety of playlists and provides a perfect crowd interactive experience when performed live.
“New Wave War” follows up the punk ballad with a rallying cry to a generation. This single perfectly encapsulates the band’s chemistry as the bass, drums, and lead guitar play off each other masterfully. A welcome addition to any workout or hype-up playlist, New Wave War is reminiscent of the outspoken alternative newcomers of the early 2000s. If you’re looking for the perfect track to complement Muse’s “Uprising” or All-American Rejects “Move Along” then look no further.
Another dark horse pick that could easily be considered an instant classic, “Pushing Triggers” provides all the evidence needed to prove that Grunge is not dead. Quite simply put, With a guitar riff that gets stuck in my head at least once a week, the track title Pushing Triggers tells you exactly what you need to know and expect heading into it.
“Hymn Of The Abyss” takes a meta look at itself as well as the album as a whole. As described by composer Eddie Grier, the track is a diatribe about the anxiety and fear of releasing his personal work to the world in this album. With this in mind, “Hymn Of The Abyss” I believe single-handedly remedies itself by expressing to the listening audience just how much dedication went into this album and that it is honest through and through. Grier also explains the original working title for the track was “I Don’t Wanna Be Here” however he found it “too generic and sad”. Ironically enough very similar lyrics can still be heard in the song’s chorus.
It’s been said the final track on an album should be reserved for a longer ballad or experimental song. I believe the last FOUR tracks of Methomania could fit into this camp, but none more than “Rain”. The track utilizes a very literal title, heavily featuring rain-backing accompanied by soothing rhythmic guitar and bass. The perfect track to throw on for a long drive or even the score of a cinematic sweeping establishing shot for your next big jungle movie. Rain is, for lack of a better explanation, “A Vibe” in every sense of the word and offers the flexibility for listeners to find their own experiences or serenity to its rhythm. Similarly “Lose This Feeling” is coated in relateability creating less of a song and more of a personal experience for the listener.
“Shoreline” continues the trend of using water as a visual representation of doubt, fear, anxiety, and general depression one must overcome. The Waves in the song represent the highs and lows, the ebbs and flows, one may battle in their own mind. While the track begins in a seemingly dark fashion depicting a man who is overtaken by these thoughts and is ready to act upon them, the song continues to unveil the continuous questions he faces from himself during the process. The “Shoreline” itself comes as a form of redemption. While the man is still unsure of exactly what is going on in his life or why his mind is trapped in such a dark state, he begins to realize if he remains contemptuous of being alone in his agony things will never improve. Rather, The man has to take charge of his situation and realize he is the only one who can change the future by controlling his perception of his past. The Song as a whole provides an empathetic look into the struggles of depression and anxiety. As a listener, this creates a beautiful reminder that even though it may feel like it at times, you are alone in your struggles.
The album is wrapped up with the lullaby-esc tones of “Bleed Me Out”. A calm, emotion-filled outro that magnificently encapsulates the journey we have just taken. The ballad is composed in such a way you just want to lay back, close your eyes, and take a deep breath. Often times debut albums focus too much on just “how hard can we rock” and leave you at the end of it full of unspent adrenaline that fades into silence with the end of the final track. The Daze winds down Methomania gracefully as if you are attending a live show approving the late hours of the night every time you listen.
There is a common saying that “rock is dead”, and I find that statement to only be as true as the stations you listen to. If all you listen to is mainstream corporate radio, unfortunately, you will only hear the same “Top 40” rock ballad you’ve heard for the past 40 years. Not only is real rock still out there, but Methomania proves that subgenres like grunge are still alive and well. I would highly recommend anyone who hasn’t yet got a chance to listen to Methomania to stream it now on Spotify. More over than that, support your local and independent artists like The Daze by purchasing a physical copy or listening to WSRR Radio for more of the music that keeps rock alive.
It has certainly been a hectic 24 hours, and more than that behind the scenes, so I decided I would offer this release to answer some of the questions I have received since the announcement of WSRR Radio.
First and foremost this decision did not come overnight, there were many internal meetings about the next logical steps for StylesRebelRadio.com between all of its members. Over a year ago the initial idea was floated about potentially rehoming The Rebel Radio Show on a new station based on some differing opinions in the direction CBW was headed at the time and some of the moves made with advertising, more on that later. While we tossed around ideas like a Roku Channel, Twitch, or even Another station, what made the most sense at the end of the day was for us to finally double down and make WSRR Radio a reality.
When this decision came about I wanted to ensure this wasn’t going to be the same programming you could find on any dial nor a formatless abyss of music. The initial concept was to stream all of the WSRR Podcasts centralized on one station, an idea which we are still working out a format for. However, as mentioned in the announcement video sometimes you need to go back to your roots. As a show that began on Underground radio, it’s only fitting we come back to finish what we started. Doing The Rock Revival every week on CBW gave me the opportunity to reach out to amazing local and independent artists like Jet Star, Gavin Michales, Year of Octiber, The Daze and so many more. More often than not it was this aspect of the show that kept me excited to get into the studio each week. This is an ideology that quickly showed as well as the level of support and excitement from the listening audience was insurmountable and vocal, to say the least. I’ve always believed the music scene is alive and well despite what you hear on terrestrial radio. The same 5 songs from 30 decades ago should not define Rock Music just as overproduced vulgarity should not define modern pop. It became evident very quickly there was a void in the local, underground, independent music scene in terms of radio that desperately needed to be filled. If anyone was going to do it, it certainly wouldn’t be the place we came from. This was the major driving force behind the decision to format WSRR Radio like we have.
NONE of this is possible without the amazing and talented people who make WSRR a reality with me. Shayne, Julez, Evan, and Jake are all monumental in making this possible. As are the incredible artists I’ve been able to work with to share this amazing body of work with all of you.
A common question I have been asked over the years is about the products we advertised for on The Rebel Radio Show and CBW Radio. To answer this, we have never promoted something we did not believe in. Both Raze Energy and SurfShark VPN were actively used by the members of The Rebel Radio Show, SurfShark is still used on the main WSRR PC in fact. We never promoted Crypto, NFTs, or any other form of digital currency scams or pyramid schemes despite an effort for us to run commercials involving them or promote other shows sponsored by them. We have not and will not compromise our morals for advertising.
In closing, I would like to thank everyone who has listened to The Rebel Radio Show, The Rebel Podcast, or any of our WSRR-produced shows in the past 4 years. You make all of this possible. Thank you to CBW for hosting our program for the past three years, and thank you to all of the amazing artists who are allowing us to broadcast their music worldwide for the betterment of local and independent music. A recent agreement will see a cut of The Daze’s Trash be used in the intro of both The Rebel Radio Show as well as The Rebel Podcast, while their song Falling for Nothing will be featured during the show close. “This year will be our 2nd time competing in the annual TRi-C High School Rock Off at the
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in February. We teamed up with Eleventh Records out of
Cleveland to re-issue our EP on CD so we’ll have physical copies to sell soon as well. On
top of that, we are currently recording our debut album which is set to release in early 2023.
We plan on playing more shows and you can come to see us on December 9th at the Outpost in Kent, Ohio. All proceeds of that show are being donated to Toys 4 Totz.
