WWE Hall of Fame 2026: “The Greatest of All Time”

With Wrestlemania quickly approaching, that means we’re one step closer to the Hall of Fame.

With the Royal Rumble officially in the rearview mirror, WWE is now firmly on the road to WrestleMania—and with that comes one of the most anticipated traditions of the year: the WWE Hall of Fame. As storylines heat up and WrestleMania plans take shape, attention also turns to which legends, icons, and contributors will be honored as part of the 2026 Hall of Fame class.

We already know Stephanie McMahon is officially confirmed for the class of 2026, marking the first announced inductee and setting the tone for what should be a headline-worthy group. From there, the rest of the class is still wide open—leaving plenty of room for speculation.

Looking at past Hall of Fame classes, WWE tends to follow a fairly consistent structure. For this prediction, the criteria is based on that familiar formula:

One major headliner

One tag team

One female inductee

One celebrity induction

Two to three additional legacy or wildcard entries

With that framework in mind, here’s our projected look at what the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2026 could realistically shape up to be as WrestleMania season rolls on. (and why it will be billed as “The Greatest of All Time”)

Headliner: John Cena

If there is a headliner that feels completely unavoidable for the 2026 WWE Hall of Fame, it is John Cena. This is the most obvious choice possible, and that is not a knock. Cena’s recent retirement run has been treated like a full celebration of an era, and a Hall of Fame induction is the natural next chapter. Seventeen world championships, iconic WrestleMania moments, crossover mainstream fame, and two decades as the face of the company place Cena firmly in the category of a generational figure. The Hall of Fame is designed for careers like his.

If it is not now, then when? WWE rarely allows this level of momentum and nostalgia to sit on the shelf. Inducting Cena while his retirement is still fresh keeps the emotional impact high and the spotlight exactly where the company wants it. Love him or hate him, John Cena defined WWE for an entire generation, and that alone makes him a lock to headline this class.

Because of this, we are theorizing that the 2026 Hall of Fame will follow a similar presentation approach to Cena’s retirement tour. Big moments, heavy nostalgia, and no subtlety. For our list, we are predicting this class will be marketed as “The Greatest Hall of Fame of All Time.” Every induction will feel intentional. Every name will carry weight. With Cena as the anchor, the rest of the class is likely to be stacked with undeniable, era-defining picks that reinforce that theme from top to bottom.

Tag Team: The Hardy Boyz

When it comes to a tag team induction that fits both legacy and current relevance, The Hardy Boyz feel like a perfect choice for the 2026 class. Matt and Jeff Hardy are already etched into WWE history as one of the most influential tag teams of all time, but what strengthens their case now is how present and impactful they have remained in the modern wrestling landscape.

Their recent work with TNA has been one of the driving forces behind the renewed working relationship between TNA and WWE. That partnership has been highly visible, and the Hardy Boyz have been central figures in making it feel legitimate rather than symbolic.

That connection carried directly into their appearances in NXT, where they were not treated as nostalgia acts, but as active competitors who even captured the NXT Tag Team Championships. Those moments sent a clear message that WWE still views the Hardy Boyz as relevant, influential, and capable of representing the bridge between generations.

For a Hall of Fame class that is being positioned as an all time great lineup, the Hardy Boyz make complete sense. Their impact spans eras, promotions, and audiences, and their recent visibility only reinforces why their induction feels not just deserved, but perfectly timed.

Female Inductee: Stephanie McMahon

The female inductee for the 2026 WWE Hall of Fame is already locked in, with Stephanie McMahon officially confirmed as part of the class. Her induction removes any speculation from this category and further reinforces the idea that this year’s Hall of Fame is being built around influence and legacy rather than surprise picks.

Stephanie’s impact on WWE spans multiple eras, both on screen and behind the scenes. As an on air authority figure, she was central to some of WWE’s most defining storylines of the Attitude Era and beyond. Behind the scenes, her role in shaping WWE’s corporate direction, public image, and global outreach places her among the most influential figures in company history.

Including Stephanie McMahon in a class headlined by John Cena and supported by generational talents like the Hardy Boyz fits the larger theme of an all time great Hall of Fame lineup. Her confirmation early in the process also sets the tone for a class built around names that helped define what modern WWE looks like today, not just inside the ring, but across the entire industry.

Next Picks Framed Around the “Greatest Hall of Fame Class of All Time”

Before getting into the final names, it is important to clarify the philosophy behind these selections. If WWE is truly centering the 2026 Hall of Fame around John Cena and leaning into the idea of “The Greatest Hall of Fame Class of All Time,” then the remaining inductees need to match that gravity. These are not quiet legacy nods. These are era-defining names that feel worthy of standing next to Cena on the same stage.

AJ Styles

One of the strongest additions to this class is AJ Styles, whose in ring career officially came to an end at the Royal Rumble 2026. Styles lost his final match to Gunther, closing the book on a career that helped redefine modern professional wrestling.

With his retirement now official, Styles becomes an immediate Hall of Fame lock. His impact on WWE alone would justify induction, but when combined with his influence across the industry and the way he reshaped expectations for top level talent in WWE, his place in history is unquestionable. For a class being positioned as the greatest of all time, AJ Styles fits seamlessly.

If Styles were not included in the 2026 class, he would almost certainly headline the following year. That reality makes his inclusion here feel not only appropriate but necessary. This is the moment that best honors his career, and this class is the one that best reflects his legacy.

Batista

The final pick that truly cements this class as an all time great is Batista. From a legacy standpoint, Batista has been Hall of Fame worthy for years. From a narrative standpoint, his inclusion alongside John Cena feels intentional and powerful. Their careers are forever linked, and seeing both honored in the same class would instantly elevate the entire ceremony.

Batista also brings unmatched mainstream star power to the table, something WWE clearly values when assembling major Hall of Fame classes. WWE has attempted to induct Batista twice in the past, only for scheduling conflicts to prevent it from happening. With timing finally lining up, 2026 feels like the moment to make it official.

Adding Batista to a class headlined by Cena, supported by AJ Styles, the Hardy Boyz, and Stephanie McMahon turns the “Greatest Hall of Fame Class of All Time” from a marketing slogan into a believable claim. At that point, the label does not feel exaggerated. It feels earned.

Honorary Mentions

Brock Lesnar easily has the resume to headline his own Hall of Fame class, and with his career still seemingly far from over, WWE may be content letting that moment wait until a later year.

The Rock would one hundred percent be a headliner whenever he is inducted, which alone makes him feel too big to slot into a class already centered around John Cena.

The Boogeyman feels like a safe and deserved pick thanks to his long standing loyalty to WWE, both on screen and behind the scenes, but his inclusion does not quite align with the all-star, era-defining theme of this particular class.

Chris Jericho remains Hall of Fame bound without question, though it appears he may have one last meaningful run left, and it is unclear whether that chapter will be fully closed by WrestleMania season.

Celebrity Inductee: Pamela Anderson

For the celebrity spot, the pick needs to feel timeless, WrestleMania connected, and substantial enough to belong in a class being framed as the greatest of all time. Pamela Anderson fits that role far better than a modern crossover name.

Pamela Anderson’s involvement at WrestleMania XI is one of the most iconic celebrity moments in WWE history, helping define the mid 1990s era when mainstream celebrity integration became a major part of the WrestleMania presentation. Her presence was not a quick cameo, but a defining visual of the event itself, one that still gets referenced decades later.

She also represents a period of WWE history that has been increasingly acknowledged by the Hall of Fame in recent years. Adding Pamela Anderson to a class headlined by John Cena, supported by AJ Styles, Batista, the Hardy Boyz, and Stephanie McMahon gives the celebrity induction real historical weight, not just modern relevance. It feels earned, it feels overdue, and it fits cleanly into an all time great Hall of Fame lineup.

While this game is far from perfect, many players appreciate that with this entry the 2K devs have been more supportive than ever addressing concerns and making notable updates via patches. There is still quite a shelf life left on WWE 2K23 and many bugs to be fixed, only time will tell how we look back at this year’s entry critically, but for now, it’s a much-welcomed step in the right direction!

WWE Releases April 15, 2021 In Depth

Yes, exactly one year to the date after WWE’s mass talent purge due to COVID-19 it would seem they’re at it again. With seemingly no reason other than “budget cuts” The World Wrestling Entertainment has begun cutting a large and shocking mix of superstars which began on the evening of April 15th 2021 around 2pm eastern standard time. The following is the current list of all known releases at this time, check back for updates as the story progresses.

Billie Kay

The initial release reported by dirt sheets and WWE.com alike was for former Smackdown superstar Billie Kay. This release comes as a shock as Billie is fresh off a push that lead her to Wrestlemania in a losing effort as part of the Women’s Tag Team gauntlet match. With buzz already swarming around her abrupt firing, it seems it will not be long before we see Billie back inside a squared circle, the question now is where.

Twitter

Mickie James

Along side the aforementioned Billie Kay, WWE veteran and former Women’s champion, Mickie James was released from her WWE contract. Mickie had been very vocal about her opinions on “aging” women’s wrestles spot in the business as a whole in recent months but still thanked WWE Chairman Vince McMahon upon the news of her release for her time with the company and fond memories over the years. (Below)

Twitter

Tucker

One half of the former tag team “Heavy Machinery” alongside Otis, Tucker split from his long time partner in late 2020 following the Money In The Bank Pay-Per-View. Since then Tucker has largely been off TV, competing in the occasional multi-man match or appearing in backstage segments. It seems as though we’ll never get to see what Tucker’s singles run would’ve looked like in WWE. Interestingly enough, this release may be exactly what Tucker needed to get his singles career off the ground as following the break of his release, Tucker tweeter out this in response…

Twitter

Wesley Blake

Former member of NXT tag team “Blake and Murphy” as well as “The Forgotten Sons” Wesley Blake never got his fair shake at a main roster push. Seemingly always looked over in favor of his partners by WWE creative. Could we see the reunion of Forgotten Sons’s Steve Cutler with Blake relatively soon on the independent scene?

Chelsea Green

The release of popular NXT women’s main stay Chelsea Green came as a shock to many as the women’s wrestler appeared quite frequently on NXT TV and was highly regarded as one of the companies next big stars. Green’s partner former WWE superstar Matt Cardona, FKA Zack Ryder, took to Twitter upon the announcement to express his pure shock of the situation and to reassure Chelsea she is indeed a star! Ryder being one of last years “Black Wednesday” cuts and having appeared across a plethora of promotions since including Impact Wrestling, AEW, and a series of his own shows, should know a thing or two about success outside of the WWE umbrella.

Twitter

Kalisto

The man responsible for “good lucha things” is another interesting release on the part of WWE. Current member of the three man stable Lucha House Party, alongside Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik at the time of release, Kalisto is a former NXT Tag and United States champion in his own right. While not a regular feature on WWE TV, The Lucha House Party were one of few teams making up the current tag division. With the release of Kalisto, we only hope that his partners aren’t soon to follow suit.

Peyton Royce

The tag division once again in shambles as another team is out of the WWE picture. Peyton Royce, former member of the IIconics alongside Billie Kay, has also been released from her WWE contract. Peyton as well has her family have been very vocal over the past months starting their displeasure with the state of WWE’s women’s division and the idea that creative would rather have the same women become champion over and over again rather than affording opportunities to new talent. Could we possible see an IIconic reunion in a more “Elite” promotion int the near future?

Bo Dallas

Real life brother of Bray Wyatt and son of WWE legend I.R.S. Bo curiously survived last years cuts while his running partner Curtis Axel did not. This lead many to believe there were big plans in the world for Bo in relation to Bray’s new “Fiend” gimmick. While Bo has been missing from WWE programming since the 2019 Crown Jewel event, backstage sources report he may be in the process of transitioning out of wrestling and rather starting his own Real-estate agency. Whatever his plans are for life outside of the WWE, we genuinely do wish Dallas the best in future endeavors.

Twitter

Samoa Joe

Definitely the most shocking of the bunch released was wrestling veteran Samoa Joe. Joe is widely credited as one of the best wrestlers of his generation and has held the major title in almost every company he’s been a part of, ironically enough, excluding WWE. While Joe has been on the sideline with an injury for most of this past year, he has still remained a staple of weekly WWE programming serving as a play by play commentator for Monday Night Raw. Even more shocking, Joe’s last appearance with the company would be his role as a main commentator throughout both nights of Wrestlemania. With such a prime role and being such a hot acquisition, many are question the decision to release Joe. One thing remains certain, wherever he goes, Samoa Joe is sure to make an impact on their world title picture with fans already clamoring on Twitter for AEW and other wrestling promotions to sign the now free agent!
